Holiday Treats

I love giving my students a little treat during the holidays. This year, I found this cute bag topper from http://www.thepurplepumpkinblog.co.uk/2014/05/frozen-olaf-snowman-party-favor-printable.html.  It's adorable and educational!

Preschoolers really like music.  Music is engaging and motivating for children and adults alike.  I love using songs to increase speech and language skills.  Every day that I’m in the preschool classroom, I use a song paired with speech cards.  The kids get to hear, see, and practice speech sounds.

Does your school do a door decorating contest?  This is our 3rd annual contest.  This year, I decided to get my students involved.  Since I share a room with both OT and PT, I came up with a cute sign that incorporates how we used fine motor and language skills. We talked about what the holiday season meant to us.  Then, we had students write the words on a snowflake.  It was a fun way to collaborate with other professionals and the kids had fun helping us place their snowflakes on the door.

Here is example of a student's snowflake.

This was the sign on my door.
